Porcelain Wine Cup with Confetti Sherds
Pinched Porcelain Cup with Sherds & Glo Worm Liner
This hand-pinched porcelain cup features Lilly’s original photopolymer stamps and a one-of-a-kind clay body. Mixed into the porcelain are sherds (yes, sherds, not shards!) from past cups and ceramic pieces that didn’t quite make the cut—or even took a tumble to the studio floor.
During making and firing, the inclusions created fine cracks on the surface, which are intentionally highlighted with an oxide wash that Lilly mixes herself. Inside, the cup is finished with a glossy liner glaze inspired by Mayco Stroke & Coat “Glo Worm,” reformulated by Lilly in her own studio.
For Lilly, these inclusions are a quiet tribute to the role of “failure” in an artist’s practice—how every broken piece, experiment, and do-over becomes part of the story of the work you hold now.
